We kicked off the spring part of the season with a secure triumph against Slavija (3-0), securing our spot in the quarterfinals of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup.
In the debut of our new coach Željko Petrović, and the first match at the HŠK Zrinjski stadium in almost two months, the question of the winner was settled within eight minutes of the game, as we scored two goals right at the start, showing that we wouldn’t allow any surprises – both goals were scored by Mario Ćuže.
Although we created many more chances throughout the game, the opposing team’s net was only shaken once more, in the ninth minute of the second half, when Igor Savić found the net.
Besides him, Goran Karačić and Silvio Ilnković also had their comeback debuts, while the Argentine Sebastian Corda received his first official minutes wearing the Zrinjski jersey. Of course, we are also delighted by the return of Hrvoje Barišić, who played his last official match in mid-September against Posušje (0-1).
The draw for the quarterfinals of the Cup is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13.
