WWin League BiH: The Nobles achieve a comeback for their third victory

Zrinjski maintained a perfect record after their third league match of the season.

Following victories against GOŠK (4:1) and Posušje (1:0), the Nobles secured three points tonight against Sloga (3:1) in Mostar. This was the first of three postponed matches, and they achieved victory through a comeback after the visitors took the lead at the start of the second half.

The coaching staff was again without Josip Ćorluka and Antonio Ivančić, and Slobodan Jakovljević was ruled out due to injury after the last training session. Early in the match, Mario Ivanković was forced to substitute Tomislav Kiš.

Back in the jersey with the ribbon was Marijan Ćavar, along with two debutants, Stefano Surdanović and David Čamber.

In the first half, Zrinjski attempted to score, but the only real chance came from Mario Ćuže, whose header from a cross by Mario Tičinović was saved by the visiting goalkeeper, Bojan Pavlović.

Sloga took the lead in the 50th minute when former Zrinjski player Toni Jović shot after confusion in the home defense, although the goal was officially credited as an own goal to Toni Šunjić.

The conceded goal energized the Nobles, who equalized in the 61st minute when Nardin Mulahusejnović converted a beautiful play into a goal, with the assist credited to Tičinović.

Just six minutes later, Fran Topić, who replaced Čamber at halftime, scored to complete the comeback. This was another great play involving Hrvoje Barišić and Mulahusejnović, with Topić scoring after a “futsal” assist from Ivan Posavac.

The question of the winner was decided in the 79th minute when Zrinjski went ahead by two goals, with Šunjić scoring from Topić’s corner kick.

It’s worth noting that this is Zrinjski’s fourteenth consecutive victory in the WWin League BiH, thus equaling their Premier League record from the 2021/2022 season. Zrinjski concluded the previous season with eleven consecutive wins under coach Željko Petrović, and this impressive streak has continued into the current season.

Zrinjski will continue their fight for points on Sunday with their first derby of the season against Borac.
