HŠK Zrinjski Mostar and Slobodan Jakovljević have signed a contract extension, binding the experienced defender to the Plemići for another season with an option to extend the collaboration until 2026.
A club legend and one of the most decorated players of Plemići with four league titles and two cup wins, Jakovljević continues to write his successful story as a player of the eight-time Bosnian champions.
“Being a player of Zrinjski has been an honor and pleasure from day one, and of course, I am happy about the extension, which I believe is mutual satisfaction. We have achieved so much together, but my motivation remains high. I have no doubt that another successful season lies ahead of us, and I only wish for good health for my teammates and me so that we can all contribute to new successes,” Jakovljević stated.
Today, the 35-year-old defender has been with Zrinjski for eight years. He made his official debut on July 12, 2016, in a draw against Polish side Legia (1:1) in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. He concluded the previous season with 246 appearances, just eleven less than the two record holders at the top – Pero Stojkić and Nemanja Bilbija.
Slobo, congratulations! We wish you many more victories, successes, and trophies in the Zrinjski jersey!
