A comeback leads to the first victory in the preparations

We achieved our first victory in the preparations in the third friendly match, where our opponent was Ukrainian Zorya (2:1).

Against a team that played in the group stage of the UEFA Conference League last season, we celebrated a comeback with a large number of created opportunities. The coaching staff used 22 players with only two substitutions at halftime.

In the first half, the best chances came from Tomislav Kiš and Mario Ćuže, but the only goal was scored by the Ukrainians at the very end when Vikentiy Voloshyn scored from the edge of the penalty area.

Immediately at the start of the second half, Nardin Mulahusejnović had the chance to equalize, and we reached the well-deserved goal in the 55th minute when Ćuže scored beautifully after a pass from Kiš.

We could have scored the second goal from several good opportunities involving Ivan Posavec, David Čamber, and Franko Sabljić, but we had to wait until the 90th minute for the comeback when Sebastian Corda finished a lovely move.

We will conclude the central part of the preparations on Friday with a match against Slaven Belupo in Koprivnica.
