Nobles kick off preparations for the spring part of the season with their first training session

With their first training session of 2025, the Nobles have begun preparations for the spring part of the season, which Zrinjski will enter as autumn champions, holding a three-point lead over Borac and six points ahead of Sarajevo.

According to the preparation plan, the league leaders will complete the initial phase of training in Mostar, while the main part of their preparations will once again take place in Međugorje, where the team will be based from January 16 to February 1.

“After three weeks of rest, we now have a month of preparation ahead of us for the challenges in the second half of the season. Following an excellent autumn, we are heading into the restart from the top position, and we will do everything to bring the championship title back to Mostar. Of course, we also aim to go all the way in the Cup again. In spring, we have the Super Cup match as well, so we need to start preparations at full intensity,” said Ivanković.

Before the second half of the season kicks off—with Zrinjski set to play Igman in the BiH Cup Round of 16 on February 8 or 9 in Konjic—Ivanković’s squad will test their form against HNK Kruševo, NK Croatia Zmijavci, OFK Vršac, and two opponents at the Andrija Anković Memorial Tournament in Gabela.

For the first training session, the coaching staff had 26 players available. Alongside Franko Sabljić, who returned from loan, the only new name in the squad is Jakov Pranjić, a 24-year-old midfielder who joins Zrinjski after spending the past 18 months at NK Jarun.

“We believe the squad for the second half of the season will be finalized soon. Our goal was to reduce the squad size compared to the first half of the season, which we have achieved. Some players have already agreed on contract terminations, Marko Kozina is going on loan, and a few players are still finalizing their status. So far, Pranjić is the only new addition, but we also expect young forward Toni Majić, who will join us on loan from Dinamo. If there are no departures, we do not see the need for additional signings, as all positions are well covered,” Ivanković concluded.
