The draw for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League has determined that we will seek to advance to the next round against NK Bravo or Connah’s Quay Nomads FC, i.e., the winner between the Slovenian and Welsh representatives who will start the competition from the first round.
The first match is scheduled for July 25 in Mostar, with the return leg seven days later in Slovenia or Wales. The exact times of the matches will be confirmed later.
If our opponent turns out to be the club from Ljubljana, it will be the fourth time we will play against a Slovenian representative in Europe, considering we have already faced Maribor twice (2014, 2017) and Olimpija once (2020). On the other hand, we have not yet had any European encounters with Welsh teams.
NK Bravo qualified for Europe for the first time by finishing fourth in the previous season, while Connah’s Quay Nomads FC finished as runners-up behind The New Saints, securing their eighth appearance in Europe. However, they have not had much success, having only managed to overcome the first hurdle twice.
As a reminder, ahead of today’s draw, UEFA announced the subgroups, and apart from the Plemići, representatives from Hungary (Puskas Akademia FC), Bulgaria (FC CSKA 1948), Malta (Sliema Wanderers FC), and the winner of the FA Šiauliai (LTU) vs. FCI Levadia Tallinn (EST) duel were also in the same subgroup.
