REPORT | HŠK Zrinjski 1:0 FK Borac

The first leg of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup final ended with our team’s triumph of 1-0, so we will await the second leg in Banja Luka, scheduled for two weeks from now, with a one-goal advantage.

Zrinjski was the superior opponent in the first half, and we crowned our quality play in the 30th minute when Mario Ćuže brilliantly reacted to Matija Malekinušić’s pass and scored, sparking great celebration among the packed stands.

Considering the number of chances and our solid defensive play, it’s fair to say that Zrinjski could have built a larger lead ahead of the second leg, but Ćuže’s goal was the sole strike of the match.

Unfortunately, the game was also marked by an injury to our captain Nemanja Bilbija, who had to leave the game in the 70th minute. The severity of the injury will be determined after detailed examinations.

In today’s match, Bilbija made his 257th official appearance wearing the captain’s armband, equalling the record held by Pero Stojkić.

The second leg of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup final is scheduled for May 22nd, and now Plemići turn their attention to an away match in Gabela in the league, which awaits us on Monday.
