Wwin Liga BiH
HŠK Zrinjski 3
NK Široki Brijeg 0
In the third Hercegovina derby of the season, victory belonged to the Plemići, who secured a comfortable 3-0 win on their home turf tonight.
Zrinjski extended their winning streak in the league to eight consecutive triumphs, and with the three points earned tonight, we have reduced the gap behind the league leaders, Borac, who play their 30th-round match against GOŠK tomorrow.
Under the guidance of coach Željko Petrović, our team started the game better and threatened several times in the opening minutes, while the visitors had one good chance through Luka Mamić, which was well saved by Marko Marić.
We took the lead in the 20th minute from a penalty converted by Nemanja Bilbija after Mario Ćuže was fouled. Just three minutes later, we doubled our lead to 2-0. After a corner kick, Bilbija headed the ball, which was then deflected into the net by Marin Magdić, scoring his first goal of the season.
By the 66th minute, Petrović had made all five substitutions, and the last player to get a chance to play was 18-year-old junior Marko Kozina. It was his official debut in senior football, and to make it even more memorable, Kozina scored in the 89th minute from a penalty kick after a foul on Magdić.
Zrinjski now turns its focus to the first leg of the cup final against Borac, which is scheduled for Wednesday at 6:00 PM at the HŠK Zrinjski stadium.
