Zrinjski will face Široki Brijeg tomorrow in Mostar

The series of derbies continues tomorrow with a match in Mostar against Široki Brijeg, marking the 76th Herzegovina derby, which we are looking forward to after Saturday’s victory against Željezničar (2:0).

Nobles will enter this match with thirteen points from five games played, while our opponent has gathered nine points from seven rounds.

Široki Brijeg started the season with an away victory against Željezničar (1:0) and a draw in Bijeljina (1:1) against Radnik. They suffered their first defeat at home against Velež (0:2). Under the management of Toni Karačić, the team returned to winning ways with a victory in Konjic against Igman (3:0), but followed that up with three poor results: a draw against Sloboda (1:1) at home, a defeat against Sloga (0:1) in Doboj, and another draw against GOŠK (2:2) at home.

In the previous season, Široki Brijeg was managed by Marijan Budimir and Dino Skender. After the season ended with Boris Pandža as the interim coach, this summer the team was once again taken over by Toni Karačić, a local coach who has been appointed for the third time.

During the transfer window, Široki Brijeg signed several players, including a few who wore the Zrinjski jersey last season—Zvonimir Kožulj, Damir Zlomislić, Matej Senić, Mato Stanić, and Ivan Jukić. On the other hand, Marijan Ćavar started the current season as the captain of Široki Brijeg but rejoined Zrinjski on the last day of the transfer window.

The Herzegovina derby kicks off at 20:30.
