Zrinjski continues the battle for points against Posušje

After concluding the European campaign in the play-off against Portuguese side Vitória, the Nobles face new challenges on the domestic scene, specifically in the WWin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the first four rounds, Zrinjski has managed to earn points only in their away match against GOŠK (4:1) in Gabela, while the postponed home matches against Sloga, Radnik, and Sarajevo will be played before the end of the first half of the season.

The fifth round brings us a match against Posušje. Although we were supposed to play this match as guests, Zrinjski will actually take on the role of the home team tomorrow due to our positive response to Posušje’s request to swap home venues. The Mokri Dolac stadium is still not ready for matches after the installation of hybrid grass, and both teams would face losses if we played in Tomislavgrad.

Posušje has started the new season very well, having won ten out of a possible twelve points. They secured a victory against Igman (1:0) and a draw against Sloga (1:1) in Tomislavgrad, while winning as guests against Sloboda (2:0) and GOŠK (1:0).

This strong performance is attributed to Duško Vranešvić, the 43-year-old coach who succeeded Denis Ćorić this summer. A newcomer to the top tier of Bosnian football, Vranešvić gained experience managing lower-league teams such as Sloboda from Novi Grad, Jedinstvo from Bihać, and Tomislav. He has chosen to trust the players from the previous season, as he has used exclusively those players who wore the Posušje jersey in the first four rounds as starters.

Referees

The main referee for tomorrow’s match will be Darko Gedžić (Brčko), with assistants Perica Maskaljević (A1, Orašje), Josip Čolić (A2, Kupres), and Nemanja Aleksić (4, Banja Luka). The VAR referees will be Luka Bilbija (Prijedor) and Antonio Tomić (Kreševo).

Head-To-Head

In the previous three seasons, we played nine league matches against Posušje, recording five wins, three draws, and one loss. That only loss occurred at the start of last season on home ground, where Posušje won 1:0 with a goal from Gabrijel Boban.
