HŠK Zrinjski 1
HŠK Posušje 0
We secured our first three home points in the league against Posušje (1:0), marking a satisfying way to welcome the first international break, which will be quite short for our team since we have our first of three postponed matches in just eight days, where we will face Sloga.
As was the case against Portuguese side Vitória on Thursday, the coaching staff could not count on Josip Ćorluka and Antonio Ivančić tonight. It’s worth noting that Marko Kozina got the chance to start for the first time.
After a tough first half, where our best opportunity for the lead came in the dying moments through Slobodan Jakovljević, Zrinjski took the lead in the 52nd minute when Tomislav Kiš confidently converted a penalty awarded for a foul on Matija Malekinušić.
In the last ten minutes, the visitors had two good chances through Karlo Kamenar, but the score remained unchanged.
It’s important to remember that even though it was the 5th round, this was only Zrinjski’s second league match of the season. We will play the postponed matches against Sloga, Radnik, and Sarajevo before the end of the first half of the season.
