HŠK Zrinjski Mostar is pleased to announce that Toni Šunjić is once again a player of the eight-time champions of Bosnia and Herzegovina!
Today, the 35-year-old native of Mostar signed a contract until the end of the 2024/2025 season, returning to his home club after a full twelve years during which he played in Ukraine (Zorya Lugansk), Russia (Kuban Krasnodar, Dinamo Moscow), Germany (Stuttgart), Italy (Palermo), and China (Henan).
Šunjić made his official debut in the jersey of the Plemići at the age of 18, on August 2, 2007, in a European defeat against Partizan (0:5). In his first season with Zrinjski, he won the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup, and then in the following season, he made a significant contribution as a key player in winning our second championship title.
At the start of the 2010/2011 season, he went on loan abroad for the first time, to Belgian side Kortrijk, after which he returned to Mostar and in the first half of the 2011/2012 season reached the milestone of 105 official appearances wearing the club’s emblem.
In the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team jersey, he earned 41 caps and represented his country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
