The new season for Zrinjski starts on July 25 with a second-round qualifying match for the UEFA Conference League, and until then, the Nobles will play five friendly matches.
The first of these is scheduled for tonight at 8 PM at the HŠK Zrinjski stadium, where Mario Ivanković’s team will face KF Vllaznia, an Albanian club preparing for the new season in Herzegovina. Vllaznia will also open their season with a UEFA Conference League qualifying match on July 11, playing away against Icelandic club Valur.
Tonight’s opponent for Zrinjski is a club from Shkodër, founded in 1919, and has won the Albanian championship nine times.
Vllaznia secured their place in Europe by finishing fourth in the league, and three years ago, the UEFA Conference League qualifying draw pitted them against Široki Brijeg, where they advanced (1:3, 3:0).
Vllaznia’s coach is former German international Thomas Brdarić.
