Yesterday, a formal reception was held at the Government building of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC) for a delegation from HŠK Zrinjski Mostar, hosted by the Prime Minister of HNC, Marija Buhač.
The occasion marked the club’s triumph in securing their ninth national championship title. In recognition of this significant achievement—as well as the club’s long-standing record of success and exceptional contribution to the promotion of Mostar and the HNC—Prime Minister Buhač presented HŠK Zrinjski with the Charter of the Government of HNC.
“I am aware of how much sweat, effort, and sacrifice went into every one of your successes, which is why they are worthy of our admiration and respect. We all vividly remember your achievements on the European stage. We proudly followed your matches against some of Europe’s football giants. One final match awaits you this season, and then, after a joint celebration and a well-deserved break, preparations begin for another European campaign. Some may say it’s bold, but as spoiled supporters used to victories and success, we expect even more than in the 2023/2024 season,” said Prime Minister Buhač.
“Being part of the European football family requires not only top-level knowledge, training, and sacrifice, but also significant financial and logistical support. That is why I especially congratulate the Management and everyone responsible for those crucial aspects, as they have succeeded in positioning Zrinjski among the best even in that regard. I am personally proud that the Government of HNC, through consistent support, has contributed to Zrinjski’s success. We have stood with you all these years, and we will continue to do so—knowing that you are the best possible ambassadors for this city, this canton, and this country. For that, we are endlessly grateful. As the song says, Zrinjski is our life, and more,” she added.
HŠK Zrinjski President Denis Lasić reflected on the season, emphasizing that Zrinjski once again demonstrated a winning mentality. He noted that the key to continued success lies in Zrinjski truly being one big family—from the management to the players and fans.
Participants agreed that a multiple-time champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina clearly deserves infrastructure that matches its success. They expressed expectations that all levels of government will fulfill their promises and obligations and ensure the urgent completion of ongoing work on the stands at Zrinjski Stadium.
We extend our gratitude to Prime Minister Buhač and the Government of HNC for their reception and continued support, with full confidence that Zrinjski will remain a source of pride for its city and canton—on and off the pitch.
