HŠK Zrinjski 1
NK Lokomotiva 3
We opened our training camp in Sveti Martin na Muri with a 1-3 defeat to Croatian first-division team Lokomotiva in a match played in the small Slovenian town of Cerkvenjak.
As in the first match against Albanian team Vllaznia (0-1) in Mostar, the coaching staff used different lineups in each half.
Despite good chances at the start of the match from Tomislav Kiš and Nardin Mulahusejnović, Lokomotiva converted their opportunities into goals, leading 2-0 by the 17th minute with goals from Duje Čop and Silvio Goričan.
The first half ended with this scoreline, during which Mario Ivanković had to substitute two players due to injuries—Fran Topić, who took a very nasty hit, and goalkeeper Goran Karačić.
In the second half, Lokomotiva scored their third goal in the 61st minute when Filip Markanović scored directly from a free kick, while Antonio Prskalo reduced our deficit with a goal from the edge of the penalty area in the final minutes of the match.
Subsequent examinations in Čakovec revealed that Fran Topić will need a week of rest before returning to training, while the injuries to Goran Karačić and Matija Malekinušić are not serious, and they will continue training with the team today.
Our next match in Sveti Martin na Muri will be against Ukrainian team Zorya on Monday, and we will conclude the central part of our preparations with a match against Slaven Belupo in Koprivnica on July 12.
