Petar Mamić is the new player of HŠK Zrinjski, and the 28-year-old defender joins the Nobles as a free agent after his last engagement with the Romanian club CFR Cluj.
The Zagreb-born player has signed a two-year contract with Zrinjski and will wear the number 12 jersey for the eight-time champion team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I received an offer from Zrinjski, and I didn’t think much about it. I am excited about the new challenge. I know we aim to fight for trophies and European group stages.”
Zrinjski’s new left-back received his football education at Dinamo, where he made his senior debut as an 18-year-old. He then played in the 1. HNL for Lokomotiva, Inter, Rijeka, and Varaždin.
He spent one season in Poland, playing for Rakow and Podbeskidzie, and after a short stint with Hrvatski Dragovoljac, he spent two years with Lithuanian side Žalgiris.
“I played with Posavec in Varaždin, and with goalkeeper Marić in the youth national team. I know Mlinar, and Kiš was at Žalgiris before me. I have been in contact with many teammates before, so the adaptation will be quick. I am generally in good shape, having trained individually a lot, even briefly with a team, and I will be ready for the first matches to help the team.”
Petar, welcome to HŠK Zrinjski Mostar! We wish you many successful performances in our club’s jersey!
