On This Day a Year Ago: Zrinjski Wins the Cup and Their First Double Crown!

A year ago today, HŠK Zrinjski clinched their second Bosnian Cup title and their first-ever double crown in history!

On April 30th, after a 2-0 victory against Posušje, Zrinjski secured their eighth league title with four rounds remaining in the season. To cap off the best season in the club’s history, they needed to triumph in the Bosnian Cup final against their city rivals, FK Velež.

The final was a single match hosted at the Bilino Polje Stadium in Zenica.

Earlier that spring, Zrinjski had already defeated Velež twice, both times as the visiting team. However, they needed to justify their favorite status once more, which they did with a 1-0 victory, with the historic goal scored by Mario Ćuže.
