Mario Ivanković and His Players Set to Play for the Record Books in Gabela!

With Yesterday’s Triumph Over Igman (3:0), Zrinjski Officially Secures Their Ninth National Championship Title!

Undoubtedly well deserved — the numbers alone speak volumes about the Nobles’ dominant journey to yet another title. Of course, a full season review will follow after the final matchday and the away fixture in Gabela. And while the game against GOŠK will no longer hold importance in the title race, Mario Ivanković and his players will still have clear ambitions going into that match.

Zrinjski will take the pitch at the Perica Pero Pavlović Stadium not just to close out the season — but to write history and push the boundaries of Premier League records.

Let us remind you: in the 2021/2022 season, Zrinjski won the title with 84 points (84.8%), which remains the highest point tally in the history of the WWin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, this season’s team has the chance to surpass even that remarkable record set under the leadership of Sergej Jakirović.

With a potential three points from Gabela, the new champions would end the season with 85 points (85.8%)!

Three points wouldn’t just mean a new record for total points, but also for the number of victories. In that same 2021/2022 campaign, Zrinjski earned a record-setting 26 wins (78.7%), alongside six draws and one defeat. This season, the team currently stands at 26-4-2, meaning a win in Gabela would secure a record-breaking 27th victory (81.8%).

A third record on the line is the most dominant goal difference. Zrinjski also holds that record from the 2021/2022 season, finishing with a +60 goal difference (74:14). With three goals scored against Igman, this season’s tally now stands at 72:14, putting that record within reach as well.

In addition to the records still in play, Zrinjski has already broken several this season:

  • Most away wins in a single season: Currently at 12, surpassing the previous record from the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 seasons.
  • Best first half of the season ever: Collected 44 out of 51 possible points — an astonishing 86.2% success rate.
  • Unmatched away streak: Began the title run with eight consecutive away wins, extending their away winning streak to 13 matches — no other club has ever gone beyond five.
  • Longest unbeaten run: Zrinjski became the first club to go 27 consecutive league matches without defeat.

Records are already falling — and in Gabela, Zrinjski will play for the history books.
