After five years at HŠK Zrinjski Mostar, Josip Ćorluka will continue his career in Poland.
The 30-year-old defender has officially joined Zagłębie Lubin SA, which activated his release clause to sign a player who left a lasting mark on our club.
Ćorluka arrived in Mostar during the winter transfer window of the interrupted 2019/2020 season, and he departs with an impressive record of 173 official appearances and multiple trophies: two league titles (2022, 2023), two BiH Cups (2023, 2024), and the “Filip Šunjić – Pipa” Trophy for the 2021/2022 season.
**”I leave with mixed emotions—some sadness, but above all, great pride. I take with me too many beautiful memories and lifelong friendships. I want to sincerely thank everyone at the club for everything they have done for me. From the first to the last day, I felt unconditional support—not only from the club but from the entire city.
Thank you to the best fans, the Ultras, for their unwavering support and for everything they do for this club. I spent five wonderful years in Mostar and grew together with Zrinjski. I am sure the club will continue achieving great results, and we will celebrate many more titles together.
Of course, I want to give special thanks to my teammates, especially those I shared the locker room with the longest. We were like a big family, sharing the good and the bad, always pushing each other forward.
Good luck, my Nobles—may your success continue!”**
– Josip Ćorluka, in his farewell message.
Ćorluka made his official debut on March 4, 2020, in a BiH Cup match against FK Tuzla City (2:1), where he scored his first of eight goals for the club. Over the years, he also contributed with 31 assists, leaving a strong mark on Zrinjski’s success.
His football journey began at HNK Grude, before he established himself at NK Široki Brijeg (2014–2019). Prior to joining Zrinjski, he had a six-month stint with Slovenian top-flight club NK Domžale.
Zagłębie Lubin is now the fourth club of his career. The Polish side is a two-time national champion (1991, 2007), finishing 8th in the 2023/2024 season in an 18-team league. Currently, they sit in 13th place in the ongoing season.
Dear Josip,
HŠK Zrinjski wishes you all the best in your professional career and life journey. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your immense contribution to our shared success and unforgettable memories.
