The documentary film “HŠK Zrinjski – The Story of Pride” premiered on Monday in a packed Hrvatski Dom Herceg Stjepan Kosača.
Directed by Dragan Komadina, the film was initiated by producer Neven Jerkić and produced by Masters Investments. Alongside director Komadina, researchers and screenwriters Josip Marinović and Nino Rotim worked on the film for the past three years.
“It was an evening of pride, a brilliant evening with great energy that touched my emotions deeply. It shows how much this story of Zrinjski mattered to all of us. This is a story about this city, not just Zrinjski, and about a history from the first half of the last century that remained untold,” said Komadina after the premiere.
The documentary covers the circumstances of the founding, operations, and violent dissolution of Zrinjski in 1945, as well as the motivations for its revival in the early 1990s.
The film was produced independently, driven and inspired by a deep responsibility and love for the history of the city and the club. It offers scientific, objective insights into the historical context of Zrinjski’s development, as well as the development of sports in Mostar and Bosnia and Herzegovina in general.
The premiere in a packed Kosača was attended by the entire first team of the eight-time champions, led by the coaching staff and the club’s management. The event was also graced by Luka Modrić, the captain of the Croatian national football team, Ballon d’Or winner, and Real Madrid star who began his senior career in our club’s jersey.
Before the premiere, Modrić, along with the president of the Croatian Football Federation, Marijan Kustić, visited the HŠK Zrinjski stadium. They were greeted by enthusiastic youth academy members, and in the club’s facilities, Modrić and Kustić were received by senior club officials who presented the Ballon d’Or winner with a commemorative jersey bearing the number 23, which he wore in the 2003/2004 season. In return, Modrić presented Zrinjski with a Croatian national team jersey he wore at the last European Championship.
HŠK Zrinjski Mostar sincerely thanks everyone who contributed to the realization of the documentary film “HŠK Zrinjski – The Story of Pride,” especially producer Neven Jerkić, director and screenwriter Dragan Komadina, and researchers and screenwriters Josip Marinović and Nino Rotim.
