Today, a new test: Ukrainian Zorya challenges the Nobles

After matches against Albanian Vllaznia (0:1) and Croatian Lokomotiva (1:3), today we face a new friendly match where our opponent will be Ukrainian Zorya.

The club from the city of Luhansk, which plays its home games in Zaporizhzhia due to the war in Ukraine, is best remembered by us as the former club of Toni Šunjić, who transferred from Zrinjski to Zorya in early 2012 and stayed there for two and a half years.

Founded in 1923, the club was the champion of the Soviet Union in 1972, and after Ukraine’s independence, their greatest successes were four third-place finishes (2017, 2020, 2021, 2023).

In the previous season, they finished tenth out of sixteen clubs, but like Zrinjski, they also played in the group stage of the UEFA Conference League.

Today’s match will be played in the Slovenian village of Stojnci at 6 PM.
