WWin BiH League: Zrinjski celebrated in the derby with a new goal from Jakov Pranjić

WWin BiH League: Zrinjski opened the spring part of the season with a crucial victory against Željezničar (1:0).

Just like in the Cup victory against Igman (1:0) in Konjic, the decisive player was once again Jakov Pranjić, our winter transfer signing, who scored the only goal of the match.

Pranjić found the net against the Blues as early as the 5th minute, when, after receiving a pass from Nardin Mulahusejnović, he bypassed the visiting goalkeeper Vedad Muftić and, from a very difficult position, managed to score.

The Nobles had chances to extend their lead, with Marijan Ćavar, Mulahusejnović, and Pranjić all coming close, but Željezničar somehow withstood the pressure from the league leaders and went into halftime trailing by just one goal.

The second half was a different story. Zrinjski found it harder to create chances, while Željezničar played with much more confidence. The best opportunity for an equalizer came right at the start of the second half when, after a cross from Stipe Marković, Filip Dangubić found himself one-on-one with Goran Karačić, but Zrinjski’s net remained untouched.

With these crucial three points, Zrinjski solidified its position at the top of the table ahead of Borac and Sarajevo. The next challenge awaits the Mostar side on Friday, with another derby clash against Široki Brijeg at Pecara.
