The first derby against Borac ended in a draw

The first derby of the season against Borac ended without a winner, with the final score being 1:1 after ninety minutes of play.

Zrinjski came very close to achieving a new triumph and securing a fourth victory in four matches, but the reigning champions managed to equalize in the 86th minute.

The first half was tightly contested, with not many dangerous situations at either end, but our team still managed to find the desired goal. In the 29th minute, Josip Ćorluka, returning from injury, tracked a long ball from Toni Šunjić well and capitalized on a weak reaction from the visiting defense to give Zrinjski the lead.

The best chance in the second half came in the 64th minute when Ivan Posavec was very close to putting Zrinjski ahead 2:0 after a corner, but the score remained unchanged until the 86th minute when the reigning champions found a crucial equalizer. David Čavić and Sandi Ogrinec exploited the home defense on the left side, with Đorđe Despotović scoring the equalizer.

Despite the limited time remaining for another goal, Zrinjski managed to create a clear opportunity in injury time, but David Čamber failed to capitalize on a cross from Mario Tičinović.

The Plemići continue their battle for points with another derby, facing Željezničar away at Grbavica next Saturday.
